Integrated Care: Applying Psychotherapeutic Skills to Help our Clients’ Manage Medical Conditions – 6 CE Credits
Amir Levine, PhD, LCSW, CASAC
More than ever, clinicians are increasingly required to have the skills to integrate psychological, emotional and medical components as they impact the overall health of our clients. And as mental health and medical care become increasingly integrated, mental health providers need important skills in order to work as part of a multi-disciplinary healthcare team in settings such as hospitals, medical offices and wellness centers. In such cases, the medical and mental health needs of the patients are viewed as part of the same treatment plan rather than as separate entities, reinforcing a more holistic and biopsychosocial view to patient care.
This workshop will focus on developing the unique skill set which will allow mental health clinicians to function successfully in healthcare settings and as well, to treat the emotional and psychological components of acute and chronic medical conditions. The purpose of this workshop is to provide cutting edge and hands-on knowledge and skills needed to be effective behavioral providers in healthcare settings.
